Privacy
Plain-language version: evabouts.app stores your trips and your Tesla connection so it can build your cards. It doesn't sell your data, and you can export or delete everything at any time. The details are below.
“We” on this page means SharksRUs LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company, which operates evabouts.app. Who runs the service, and why it isn't Tesla, is on the Legal page. Last updated 10 August 2026.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, and a hashed password (we never store the plaintext).
- Tesla connection: a read-only Tesla access token, stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM). We can read trip and charging data, and hold no permission to unlock, start, or drive your car. Cars in our streaming test also receive one message from us — the configuration telling the car where to send its data — signed with a virtual key you add yourself and can remove from the car at any time.
- Trip data: routes, speed, power, temperatures, charging stops, and billed Supercharging costs for the trips you record.
- Home pin (optional): if you set one, we store its coordinates only — never an address, and it's never displayed.
- Photos (optional): up to three per trip, screened by AI before storage.
How it's used
Your data is used only to build your trips, cards, and graphs, and to run your account. We don't sell it, and we don't share it with advertisers. Aggregate Cloudflare usage counts (requests, database rows) are monitored to keep the service running.
What's public when you share
A trip is private until you share it. When you do, the share link and card always hide a 5-mile zone around the trip's start and end (plus your home pin, if set), and precise coordinates for non-Supercharger stops are removed. Everything else on a shared trip — the map, stats, and photos — is visible to anyone with the link.
Third parties
We rely on Tesla (vehicle data), Cloudflare (hosting, storage, and the database), Resend (transactional email such as password resets), and OpenStreetMap Nominatim (turning a home address into coordinates). Each receives only what it needs to do its job.
Your data — export and deletion
You can download everything tied to your account — profile, vehicles, trips, and charging stops — as a JSON file from Settings, or directly at /api/account/export while signed in.
Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your trips, charging data, photos, and stored Tesla connection. To also revoke Tesla's access grant, use the security settings in your Tesla account.
One exception: when an account is removed, an administrative record that the deletion happened is kept — the date, and who performed it. That record includes the email address for up to two months so the action can be reviewed, after which the address is erased and only the anonymous record remains.
